We’re a pub—NOT a bar! Oftentimes, pubs are mistaken for a bar, which could not be further from the truth. A pub is much more… It is a social experience. It is a public meeting house, a sympathetic ear, in essence, it is a second home. We take pride in our outstanding customer service, carved tables, and famous outside garden.

Our mission was to create the type of pub that we would want to frequent and that our families, friends, and neighbors would enjoy. And that’s what we did. Doggie’s Pub is the perfect spot for a pint.

The Troskos
Our friends and family make the pub what it truly is. Tom & Kelley, the Troskos, invite you to join them. Family is the most important thing to the Troskos, and they invite you to be a part of theirs.
Supporting local charities and events, employing future leaders, and naming Doggie’s Pub to emphasize its connection to the community is their way of fostering connections with the town they care so much for.

More About Tom & Kelley
Tom is a 1995 Penn State graduate with a major in landscape architecture. He was a member of the Rugby Club during his Penn State years and later coached rugby at the University. Tom’s friends remember him as a mentor on the field.
Tom began working at this location in the ’80s when it was previously run as The All-American Rathskeller (Skeller). He started out as a barback and then later became a doorman. The bar quickly became more than a job to Tom. Living in the rugby house, Tom said, it was not “conducive” to studying, so he would study in the bar on slower afternoons, taking full advantage of the menu available.
The Troskos moved to State College over the summer of 2017, hoping to find a lifestyle that would allow them to spend more time with their two girls, at the time 5 and 9. Kelley works at Penn State as the Marketing and Communications Manager in Human Resources.
“I love being part of Penn State,” Kelley said. “Being with Tom for the past 14 years, I have felt like I was already part of the community, but living here and bringing our family here has really brought it all together.” Kelley and Tom will share duties running Doggie’s Pub.
